XForms 0.8.0.2 release not working on linux firefox 2.0.0.4

Hi,

I just upgraded the xforms to 0.8.0.2 from 0.8.0.1 on firefox (linux)
2.0.0.4. All xhtml pages stopped rendering.

Is this the issue with the new release or I should look something into
my code.

Thanx for help in advance.

-regards,
Piyush

A problem also on Mac OS X version 0.8.0.2.
It doesn't install

not valid hash file (probably corrupted download).

The component owner is out until Monday, so you should roll back to previous
version. It should be fixed on Monday (July 9).

Hi Lorenzo,

Please try again. A guy here said that it works fine for him.

Lemme know if it doesn't work for you,

Hi Piyush,

Hmmm. Your xforms don't render at all?

Could you try our xforms samples
(http://www.mozilla.org/projects/xforms/samples.html) with your setup
and let us know what you see? The guys who are running Linux here with
2.0.0.4 and 0.8.0.2 are seeing red xf:label text (which seems to be a
Linux-only issue that we are currently trying to track down), but other
than that the xforms samples render fine for them.

Lemme know,

Hi aaron,

Sample pages also didn't render (yes, at all :( ) ....

The following check is also evaluating to false :
document.implementation.hasFeature("org.w3c.xforms.dom", "1.0")

I am using Firefox 2.0.0.4 on dapper release. (Please note that
0.8.0.1 is working perfectly fine here).

Please let me know, if I can send you some debugging information about
the same!!

Thanx
-regards,
Piyush

Hi Piyush/Dev,

Could you guys run ldd on the xforms .so file and post the results here?
Since it sounds like it isn't loading at all, we think that perhaps we
ended up with a dependency on a library that you guys don't have. We
have a suspicion of what it could be, but would like to see your
feedback before jumping to conclusions.

Thanks,

I don't know , but shouldn't mozilla provide libXPCom?

This is what I get:

[swithun@magog ~]$ ldd .mozilla/firefox/rwfgj8yw.default/extensions/\{cf2812dc-6a7c-4402-b639-4d277dac4c36\}/components/libxforms.so
	not a dynamic executable

When I ran ldd on firefox-bin, I was getting libxpcom.so => not found etc,
but modifying the LD_LIBRARY_PATH fixed that.

Examining the libxforms.so file with

[swithun@magog ~]$ strings .mozilla/firefox/rwfgj8yw.default/extensions/\{cf2812dc-6a7c-4402-b639-4d277dac4c36\}/components/libxforms.so | grep lib

I get

libxpcom.so
libxpcom_core.so
libplds4.so
libplc4.so
libnspr4.so
libpthread.so.0
libdl.so.2
libstdc++.so.6
libm.so.6
libgcc_s.so.1
libc.so.6
libxforms.so

so, it should be a dynamic executable, no?

Looking forward to the next release.

Hello

SC This is what I get:
SC
SC [swithun@magog ~]$ ldd .mozilla/firefox/rwfgj8yw.default/extensions/\{cf2812dc-6a7c-4402-b639-4d277dac4c36\}/components/libxforms.so
SC not a dynamic executable
SC

Sorry - false alarm. I forgot to do that inside my 32bit chroot.

But I get the same 'not found' errors as other when I run ldd, though the
XForms pages work fine for me when I run Firefox from inside the 32bit

Problems with new FireFox 2.0.0.5 and 0.8.0.2 XForms extension
Hi all, We are running the 0.8.0.2 extension and are having problems with the new FireFox 2.0.0.5 that just came out. It looks like instance documents are not loading on the Windows platform. Is anyone else having problems with this? Thanks - Dan It won't work. We added support for current() which means changes to XPath which means that any interaction in xforms that requires xpath will fail (almost all of them if you consider binding, etc). --Aaron Dan McCreary wrote: > Hi all, > > We are running the 0.8.0.2 extension and are having problems with th...

update 2.0.0.4 does not work with my new 2.0.0.0
Name: Robert J Norton Email: bobatnortondotnet Product: Thunderbird Summary: update 2.0.0.4 does not work with my new 2.0.0.0 Comments: Each time I have installed update 2.0.0.4 I can't get my email for rjnorton@pacbell.net. The feed back states it can't find the pop server. I've reported this twice to the web master but that amounted to zilch. I've repeated this 2 times and each time I've had to reload 2.0.0.0 to get at my email. I am continually bombarded with .4 up dates which I now refuse to install again. So far, no one has reported a fix to me. ...

Random crashes, slow responses and additionally problems with administrator rights. I had similar problems on 2 out of 2 systems. Best solution for me (and probably a lot of other users) is to go back to 2.0.0.1 and disable automatic update. Success! Firefox XP 2.0.0.8 ubuntu 2.0.0.6. Why?
I am using XP and Ubuntu 7.10. In both operating system I am using the same profile. (Symbolic link to XP partition). However, due to the difference in versions Firefox always start with a addon check. So why is Ubuntu not on version 2.0.0.8. That would solve this problem.
