l10n 2.2 Sign-off: Results

Hello,

Below you will find the locales that are considered as PASS and CONDITIONAL PASS on l10n sign-off for 2.2 release.

Any language not listed here should be considered as FAIL on 2.2 - either because they had too many missing strings (more than 300), too many bugs, or some other major issue. You may contact me directly for more info on status of specific languages.

Please note that locales that had more than 300 missing strings have not been tested. Also, this sign-off is for FxOS product side only. This does not reflect status of Marketplace, WebParts or Marketing material.

Finally, due to lack of testing resources on 2.2, please also remember that Marigold could only test locales that have already shipped or were shipping soon (Arabic).

All other tested locales were covered voluntarily by our l10n communities. A huge thanks to them!!! :D

------

PASS: 100% translated, 100% tested, keyboards and autocorrection/wordsuggestion available

CONDITIONAL PASS (CP): tested but missing something. Details explained next to each language.

FAIL: contact l10n team to know why this failed. Reasons are often: not enough translation, no testing, too many bugs, or not available.

Haha enjoy! Glad to see this too :)

Also please note everyone: I made an error under the definition of Conditio=
nal Pass: Conditional Pass means that at least one of the items from the PA=
SS definition is missing. But it doesn't always mean the locale has been te=
sted

thanks!

Hi delphine,

what's with Upper Sorbian and Lower Sorbian? They have been fully
translated for a long time.

Regards,

Michael

Hi Michael

I'm sorry this was missed. People usually make this request to one of the l10n-drivers.
I didn't notice work was done because Upper Sorbian and Lower Sorbian aren't up and running on FxOs builds - I admit I didn't go through each and every locale we have to check that.
I'll work on getting bugs on file for both locales - and find some time to see what other locales might be complete but not up on builds
thanks for the heads up Michael

cheers

At first, I must beg your pardon: I thought you wrote about Firefox for
iOS but you wrote about Firefox OS! Excuse me, please!

But, nevertheless, I'd like to promote both projects. Both projects are
fully translated both into Upper Sorbian and into Lower Sorbian on Pootle.

I think some weeks ago you've already written that Sorbian locales for
FxOS should be started with FxOS 2.2. Ah, at the end of March, subject
of the messages is: "Preparing Sorbian Firefox OS Releases". They are
emails and no messages in m.d.l10n.

There is a bug as well:

https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1145940

You sent me a link how to update on Geeksphone Keon but I didn't dare to
update. But later I updated by mistake for German but the channel is Fx
OS 3 nightly now and is only partially translated. This issue had
Michael Stanke as well - see topic "Re: [Action] FxOS 2.2: String Freeze
+ Testing" from April 1st in m.d.l10n.

I'll follow-up on that bug, seemed like it was not brought to my attention.=
Will CC myself now and get the ball rolling :)

Concerning the email "Preparing Sorbian Firefox OS Releases" I have no idea=
where that can be! Can't find that in my inbox or here.

Anyways, yeah master isn't open to localization yet which is probably why y=
ou're getting a partially localized phone. I'm not sure I'll be able to get=
Upper and Lower Sorbian on 2.2 anymore at this point (because it's code co=
mplete), but I'll get it up on master. Once master is open to l10n work you=
'll be able to continue localizing it there. LangPacks might be a possible =
solution to this as they can bundle up your locale on 2.2.

thanks for your patience with all this ;)

Hi,

As flod said in the bug we're working on it, it's a matter of a few more
days (maybe next week) as we need to sync with different people.
We will make an announcement here when it's ready, thanks for your
patience :)

Hi Delphine!
Great to see Ukrainian in the list!
Keyboard tested by me on 2.5 and it works well :)
The list of words for dictionary is already posted to the Bug 1137970.
Also I can tell, that Ukrainian locale is tested.

Thanks,
Artem
