[ANNOUNCE] Opt-in thread for Firefox 3.6 Beta 1

Hi all,

please use this thread to opt in for Firefox 3.6 Beta 1.

Please give a 1.9.2 ref like
http://hg.mozilla.org/releases/l10n-mozilla-1.9.2/ar/rev/a61894ab9299.

We're string frozen, and code freeze for Beta 1 is not going to be
before Sept 21st. I don't have something better yet, the drivers are
currently going through the blocker nominations.

I'll continue to migrate the remaining locales from 1.9.1 to 1.9.2
tomorrow, catch me on irc if you need help.

I've hinted at that before, we might only see this Beta, again depends
on the blocker noms.

In a later commit, I've removed
es-AR/dom/chrome/webservices/security.properties to get fennec10x green,
but that file was still used in fx36x. The rev that I'm opting in is
green and that file is included.

See my other post, fennec builds were wrong.
http://l10n.mozilla.org/buildbot/compare/fennec%20arm%20repack/4144
shows it missing for fennec10x now, too.

Sorry for the confusion.

Yes, as usual. Please file bugs on changes you want to make and get

Hi Axel,
just to be sure: is there already a deadline to opt-in?

My doubt is that a lot of strings for about:support
(https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=367596) landed before the
string freeze, but the feature doesn't seem to be enabled in the latest
Namoroka nightlies. If this feature is going to be active in beta1, I
really need to test it before considering a changeset good to go.

Francesco.

Och, you're right. That doesn't seem to have landed yet. I poked in the
bug, and I'm open to land it on branch after the beta, if that's coming
around shortly. I personally don't think that it needs beta testing,
though it does need some testing in the l10n builds of course. But that
should be fine between beta and the next milestone, IMHO.

An information that could be useful to other localizers: I've just
realized that the new "ctrl+tab"
(https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=465076) adds an item to
the "View" menu when enabled, maybe you should check your accesskeys ;-)

Hi Walter et al,

this opt-in got rejected due to search engine changes with a bug with
review etc. Offending diff is
http://hg.mozilla.org/releases/l10n-mozilla-1.9.2/af/diff/e279f0477e33/browser/searchplugins/list.txt.

There's an unreviewed comment change to region.properties, AFAICT. Not
rejecting this, but please be careful on landing changes to
region.properties. Stas might ack the removal of the comment on request.

Hi Toni,

gotta reject that, this didn't port
http://hg.mozilla.org/releases/l10n-mozilla-1.9.1/ca/rev/2650e5cd4149,
mibbit, to 1.9.2.

Please sync region.properties with what's on 1.9.1 and opt-in with a new
revision?

Hi Pavel,

sorry, gotta reject that one, please port mibbit from 1.9.1 over to
1.9.2 and opt in with a new changeset,
http://hg.mozilla.org/releases/l10n-mozilla-1.9.1/cs/diff/1952f6de1bde/browser/chrome/browser-region/region.properties
is the missing patch.

Marek,

gotta reject this, two landings from 1.9.1 to region.properties need to
be ported to 1.9.2 still,
http://hg.mozilla.org/releases/l10n-mozilla-1.9.1/pl/log/b273f6708355/browser/chrome/browser-region/region.properties

Please fix that and opt-in with a new changeset?

Carlos,

I gotta reject this one, it's missing stas' landing to site search and
mibbit.

Please update the status of region.properties on 1.9.2 to that of 1.9.1

l10n-mozilla-1.9.1:

Hi,

I've made a change in a toolkit file
(toolkit/chrome/global/finddialog.dtd) in boh 1.9.1 and 1.9.2. While
this change doesn't affect Firefox (AFACIT), because it is related to
the Find in page dialog, which is superseded by the find toolbar in
Firefox and Thunderbird, I guess it is better to explain it here. :-)
So, please, use this changeset for next Firefox 3.5.x version:

http://hg.mozilla.org/releases/l10n-mozilla-1.9.1/es-ES/rev/b7efd11c5055

The corresponding change in 1.9.1 is no longer the tip, so I'll let
Guillermo ask for his favourite changeset for Fx 3.6b1.

Best regards,
Ricardo

You're confusing 3.5 and 3.6 here, sorry. It's hard to keep track of it
as it is so I'll let this one slip unless it's popping up in the 3.5.x
thread on its own.

Sorry

Axel

PS: context: I'm having two distinct systems, one running an old version
of the code and 3.5.x data and one running current code with 3.6.x data.
The VM that was supposed to get the two together just ran out of inodes
today while catching up on builds, so right now, I'm stuck to keep those
two systems on my local laptop.

Actually, I mistyped the Gecko version. :-) I meant:

Guillermo said that the latest 1.9.2 changeset is the good one, so
please use this one for Firefox 3.6b1:

Hi,

sorry, gotta reject this one. You've changed Firefox to Thunderbird in
aboutRights.dtd,
http://mxr.mozilla.org/l10n-mozilla1.9.2/source/gl/toolkit/chrome/global/aboutRights.dtd#19.

Unfortunate to have the shared file there adding confusion.

Sorry, I thought I had that somewhere sent out, but I apparently didn't.

You still need to get the 1.9.1 status for searchplugins and
chrome/browser-region/region.properties back onto 1.9.2.

I saw this earlier, and I've nagged a bunch of folks, but apparently
missed you in the list, sorry.

Firefox 3.6 Beta 1 has finally been sent over to build, last changeset I
took was from the french team just now.

This is still the last beta we expect to do for 3.6. There are a few
string changes discussed still, I'll update you on when we triage those.

Axel

With the latest changes to aboutsupport.show and

[ANNOUNCE] Firefox 3.1 Beta 1 Opt in Thread
Hi all, please follow up to this thread to opt in for Beta 1. We're string frozen since Thursday, and code freeze is Sept 30th at 11:59pm PDT. An extra would be if you could provide a link to hg.m.o referencing the changeset you want to get in. This release is a bit new, and is likely going to be done by hand by the release team. Sorry for the late announcement, I have issues with my connectivity in my home office. Release criteria are green on tinderbox and l10n dashboard. Seth is looking into QA ideas for B2 and RCs. [ANNOUNCE] Firefox 3.6 RC (and beta n) opt-in thread
Hi all, you've probably been eagerly waiting for this (right ;-) ), another opt-in thread. Firefox 3.6 is wrapped up in terms of strings. Here a few things on timeline: We plan to ship incremental updates to our beta users, that code is intended to wrap up on Friday. We may do this two or three times. Opting in now should get your locale to participate in those refreshs, and for those that haven't yet gotten beta exposure, get you that. That said, all opt-ins from now on should be opt-ins for release. If you get hit by a truck, we'll ship what you sign off o...

Hi all, Strings for Firefox 3.1 are frozen [*], and code freeze for Beta 3 is in a week from now (-2 hours), January 13th, 11:59pm PDT [**]. Please make sure that your fx31x trees on http://l10n.mozilla.org/dashboard/?tree=fx31x are green, and that your builds on tinderbox succeed, the "Firefox mozilla-1.9.1 ..." count. They can be found on http://tinderbox.mozilla.org/showbuilds.cgi?tree=Mozilla-l10n and http://tinderbox.mozilla.org/showbuilds.cgi?tree=Mozilla-l10n-ab-CD.
