Thunderbird - 'local' or 'remote' message?

Hi,

How do I know if a message is 'local' (e.g. you wrote it yourself, so
it's in the sent, drafts or concepts folder, or any other folder where
you want to store those mails), or if it is 'remote' (e.g. you received
it in your inbox). Of course I also want messages you sent to yourself
to be recognized as remote. If it's of any matter, my main extension
code is called from the messagepane-loaded event.

Thanks,
Frederik Vanderstraeten

Can anyone give me a hint? How can I get any information about the
currently loaded message? (I know how to get the header data but that's
all.)

Thunderbird extension: how to delete messages
I posted this question first to the MozillaZine Extension Development forum, but got no reply, so I'm trying here... let me know if there's a better place. First of all, can anyone point me to any useful resources for Thunderbird add-on development? I have had very little luck in finding any documentation whatsoever of the available APIs, changes between TB versions, etc.. Anyway, on to my question. Basically, I'm trying to figure out how to delete messages reliably (my current method doesn't work when the user is viewing a different folder). Details: My curre...

How to modify message from a Thunderbird extension
Hello, I am developing an extension for Thunderbird. That extension will provide capapibility to encrypt/decrypt mails using a specific encryption program. That program is proprietary software: it is based on symetric and public-key cryptography but it is not OpenPGP compliant. So my extension will be similar to Enigmail but a lot more simple: On sending: 1. get recipients 2. get mail attachments and eventually mail content 3. build and encrypted archive file for the recipients (keys can be retrieved from email addresses) 4. delete existing attachments 5. add ...

Thunderbird has blocked remote images in this message
Does anyone know if the TB team has fixed the bug in this privacy feature? As of 2.0 (according to this link: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Privacy_basics_-_Thunderbird ) the feature is turned on all the time and can only be disabled per email address. That in itself wouldn't seem like a bad idea, but it is when you use the RSS Feeds feature of Thunderbird. I suspect emails and RSS feeds are handled by two different teams, and that the QA people working on the RSS feeds didn't actually try adding any feeds. If they did, they'd see the result like I do on every feed I rec...

Thunderbird Blocked Remote Content In This Message
All TB3.1.7, Windows 7 64bit Thunderbird gives me the message "To protect your privacy, Thunderbird has blocked remote content in this message" followed by a hyperlink "Always load remote content for" followed by the EMail address of the Sender. If I click the "Always load ...." message, TB adds a Address Card to my Personal Address Book for the EMail address; and all future Emails from that address show the remote content. However, some of my senders use multiple EMail addresses. As a result I have Address Cards for each of the addresses....

Can load index.htm remotely and locally, and default.aspx locally, but not remotely.
I have posted this in the dotnetnuke forums, but I am posting here as well, to expose it to greater viewing.By remotely, I mean across the intranet, in this case. If I point a remove computer to 192.168.1.22/DotNetNuke/index.htm, this page loads flawlessly in the remote browser. This shows that permissions on IIS and network configuration is fine, or this page would not be served up. If I try to load 192.168.1.22/DotNetNuke/default.aspx however, I get the infamous "page cannot be displayed error". Note that I have already added default.aspx to the documents tab in IIS default website...

Creating Multipart/Alternative Messages from Thunderbird extension
