Problem with firefox 17 security

hi there!
i have an add-on that loads an iframe (in the sidebar).
i used to declare variables using top.VarName, and then access them from javascript loaded in the iframe (still in my add-on, not in the content of the browser).
but now, whenever i try to use top.(VarName), i get "Permission denied to access property" error. (meaning that my content in the addon cannot access any of the ChromeWindow properties).
i tried to bypass it but i cant manage to figure out the right way to do it. Any ideas?

thanks,
Eadan

i know about the whitelist and exposed, but my problem is that the content =
in my addon always changes, that is why i saved my varaibles on the "top" s=
cope (which was the ChromeWindow), but now i cannot access it from the cont=
ent. i cant manage to expose any variable in the "top" scope to the content

Firefox Security Extensions
I've had a couple recommend two Firefox extensions for security: Perspectives () and SSL Blacklist () Does anyone have any experience with either of these? I'm always hesitant to increase the number of extensions if they aren't going to give a significant benefit. I'm already using the usual suspects (Adblock Plus, NoScript, Secure Login, & CustomizeGoogle). I've also recently added the Google cookie opt-out and BlockSite. I'd appreciate hearing from anyone that has used (or is using) those two extensions. And on the SSL Blacklist, are people just ...

Security for Firefox Extensions
Name: Paul Ammann Email: ptammannatyahoodotcom Product: Firefox Summary: Security for Firefox Extensions Comments: Hi While I've been a user/fan of Firefox for quite a while, it's been my point of view that there has been a lack of security for Firefox extensions. I would like to see Firefox extensions signed with a certificate that would allow users to authenticate the Firefox extension. If a Firefox extension is discovered to be harmful, revoking the certificate would immediately disable the extension. Certificates would be verified when the user first launche...

How to write security extensions to FireFox?
Although the following document was written for the support of schemes like KeyGen2 ("Universal Provisioning") and WASP ("WebForm Signing"), I believe it could probably work equally well for Information Card selelctors, IETF's DSKPP, and similar. http://webpki.org/papers/web/XMLBrowserExtensionScheme.pdf If I have the time I will try to make an open source implementation of this for either Android, Windows Mobile, or Mozilla FF. If somebody has a pointer to src to a suitable javascript-based FF extension which could be used as a starting point, I would be ...

Firefox 3 extensions problem
Hello all, Recently I tried to port my extension to Firefox 3 but failed. It seems like all extensions in Firefox 3 share same variable/functions scope. So other extensions just override some of my functions :( I haven't seen such behavior in Firefox 2 so I didn't pay attention to names uniqueness. Is someone ran into same problems? Is this a bug and it will be fixed later? Best regards, Dima Vidmich vidmich@gmail.com wrote: > Hello all, > > Recently I tried to port my extension to Firefox 3 but failed.
