b2g-dialer-test repo name change to b2g-dialer-daemon

What started as a quick reverse engineering project for figuring out how the dialer works is now an actual project we'll be using as part of B2G. We'll need the utilities in the repo to be able to access the phone socket and have gecko actually dial. So, I've changed the github repo to:

http://www.github.com/kmachulis-mozilla/b2g-dialer-daemon/

Please update your remotes accordingly. This hasn't actually been integrated into the main B2G repo yet, so this will probably only effect those actually working in the repo.

b2g-dialer-daemon submodule move
Well, subject pretty much says it all, but: b2g-dialer-daemon is in the process of being renamed to rilproxy. I've moved the repo and renamed it in B2G, but when you do a make sync, you'll have both a glue/gonk/b2g-dialer-daemon and a glue/gonk/rilproxy. Since the android make system wildcards everything in, it'll try to build 2 b2g-dialer-daemons, which will cause it to fail. So, after you've got a glue/gonk/rilproxy, delete the glue/gonk/b2g-dialer-daemon directory by hand. ...

Proposal to change B2G branch names in gecko.git to include "b2g"
Hi, everyone. I'd like to ask the group if anyone has an objection to naming our b2g branches something like "b2g-vX_Y_Z" in gecko.git [1]. I think the simplest thing to do is probably to copy the name from the hg repository, but I don't feel strongly about the specifics, so long as the name has "b2g" in it. Right now, the b2g relbranches are being named "vX_Y_Z". I am strongly opposed to this: The repository is called "gecko.git", so I don't think it makes sense to have a "v1_0_0" branch which does not correspond to ...

b2g-info now subsumes b2g-procrank and b2g-ps
Dear all, I just merged b2g-info, a tool which gives you information about b2g processes running on a device, into gonk-misc. You can get this new tool by running ./repo sync and then rebuilding with ./build.sh. b2g-info is meant to subsume b2g-procrank and b2g-ps. It (hopefully) outputs all of the useful information from b2g-ps, b2g-procrank, b2g-procrank --nice, and b2g-procrank --oom plus some additional data in a (hopefully) easier-to-digest format. b2g-info is also faster than b2g-procrank, which makes a difference if you're running b2g-info repeatedly from a script. ...

b2g-dialer-daemon/rilproxy bustage
After the reversions and what not from the gaia/m-c issues yesterday, m-c got merged in from doublec with my socket rename from rilb2g to rilproxy. However, I wasn't around with this happened, and was waiting for that commit to be merged from doublec before bringing up the submodules in b2g to point to the init.rc and rilproxy daemon with those necessary changes. So, b2g ril has been busted since whenever that merge happened. Sorry about that, I should've made it clear that I needed to do the merge to make sure all the commits across the 3 repos cascaded into the submodules correctly. ...

[signin][b2g] - B2G->dev merge
We have been discussing forceAuthentication, but there are other B2G features that must be merged into dev. So that JedP and I can prioritize, bisect, and tackle, can we get a list of features and any dependencies they have on other features? Off the top of my head I know of: * forceAuthentication * forceIssuer * allowUnverified * special TOS/PP handling - in B2G, TOS/PP links must be opened in an IFRAME instead of in a new tab. * A way of indicating experimental features Are there other new features that I am missing? We are actively discussing forceAuthentication, but t...

mailman config changed; text/html should now show up in dev-gaia and dev-b2g and links should not be corrupted

Names for B2G
Hello all - Given the talk in the talk in the company meeting about branding, I was thinking about alternative names to B2G. My first thought was something like Chameleon, as it is sort of like a larger gecko and can change it's appearance easily. Unfortunately Chameleon has been used as a name for a variety of projects, including a Chameleon OS. I then extended the idea of changing appearance to shape shifting (no, we don't want a Werewolf OS). After reading a bit on Wikipedia on shape-shifting myths, I thought of the swans from Swan Lake. Odette is the Swan ...

Merging dev-gaia and dev-b2g into dev-fxos

So we are deprecating both in favor of dev-fxos. So if you are subscribed to one of the aforementioned lists, you will be subscribed to the new dev-fxos list and we will shortly be decommissioning dev-gaia and dev-b2g. Thanks!
