More info re: OE closing by itself- updates installed/not installed

It happened twice this morning... thanks Robert.

I am most curious, as other than a driver update for my NIC which has been
available for a month (and which I just now installed - could this have been
the problem?), there are only 4 updates available. All SP1, critical, and
other recommended updates have been installed, as follows (just the most
recent ones here of course):
Successful May 13, 2004 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. network software
update released on April 13 2004. Web site
Successful May 12, 2004 Security Update for Windows XP (KB840374)
Automatic update
Successful April 13, 2004 Security Update for Windows XP (KB835732)
Automatic update
Successful April 13, 2004 Security Update for Windows XP (KB828741)
Automatic update
Successful April 13, 2004 Security Update for Windows XP (KB837001)
Automatic update
Successful April 13, 2004 Critical Update for Internet Explorer 6
Service Pack 1 (KB831167) Automatic update
Successful April 13, 2004 Cumulative Security Update for Outlook
Express 6 Service Pack 1 (KB837009) Automatic update

These below are the only updates I have not installed:

Recommended Updates
Update for Windows Media Player 9 Series (KB837272)
Download size: 2.0 MB, < 1 minute
This update addresses an issue when copying music media files between
Windows Media Player and a supported portable device. As the number of items
in the Media Library increases, so does the copy time. You can help improve
the transfer time by installing this update. After you install this item,
you may have to restart your computer.

Update for Windows XP Shop for Music Online Link (KB833998)
Download size: 282 KB, < 1 minute
This update changes the behavior of the Shop for music online link in the My
Music folder. Previously, clicking this link would launch Internet Explorer.
After installing this update, clicking this link will launch the default
browser. After you install this item, you may have to restart your computer.

Windows Error Reporting: Recommended Update (Windows XP)
Download size: 346 KB, < 1 minute
This update will enable the user to automatically view responses to Windows
error reports. After submitting an error report, if information relating to
the crash event is available such as a fix, workaround, or other
information, then the response may be viewed immediately and automatically.
After you install this item, you may have to restart your computer.

Recommended Update for Windows XP SP1 (817778)
Download size: 1.2 MB, < 1 minute
The Advanced Networking Pack for Windows XP is a set of platform
technologies designed for the use and deployment of advanced networking
solutions. It includes an updated IPv6 stack supporting NAT traversal for
IPv6 applications, an IPv6 firewall, and a peer-to-peer platform for writing
distributed solutions. After you install this item, you may have to restart
your computer.

Should I install these? I always say "don't send" to error reports. Perhaps
I should install the error reporting update and say "yes, send error report"
from now on? (I own my XP, so there's no issue there).

Thanks for any help :)

I am installing D2010 from the iso image. But the setup complains that I should install Update 3 for D2009 before that. Lightening Disappeared; Re-installed But Won't Fully Install; May Be Due To Update
Hi. I am currently running Thunderbird version 38.5.1. My Lightning add-on (which has been installed for years) seemed to disappear and was not listed in "Add-ons Manager", so I "installed" the latest version 4.0.4.1. It said it would be installed after I restarted Thunderbird but after restarting, there was no change: it still said it would be installed after I restarted Thunderbird. I tried the "Undo" option but that does not seen to do anything. I tried downloading the Lightning file (.xpi) directly and installing it via the "Install add-on fr...

Re-install of Oracle -- does DBD::Oracle need to be re-installed?
I've recently come upon a situation where Oracle is not installed in a standard place (company standard). There is a potential the DBA group will want to delete the current installation and re-install in the standard directory structure. I'm guessing that this will impact my DBD::Oracle installation, since libraries will be in different places, etc. Can anyone confirm whether this will be a problem? What steps must I take in order to get DBD::Oracle to the proper state? Will this require me to uninstall anything, and if so is there a standard DBD uninstall procedure? ...

Update installation source for autoyast installation
Hi, I'm trying to set up an autoyast installation. How can I add all available updates to the installation source. I tested with create_update_source.sh, but now I have wrong dependencies with older rpms like glibc. I marked "do not install glibc-2.4-31.30", so I get more and more dependency problems. How can I fix this? Thanks!
