How very disturbing! Not a single book about assembly language. This

No. "Zen..." is a classic and long out of print.

How about this?
http://webster.cs.ucr.edu/AoA/Windows/index.html

"Windows Version of The Art of Assembly Language Programming!
The Art of Assembly Language Programming is the World's #1 book on x86
assembly language programming! Thousands upon thousands of programmers
have learned assembly language programming using The Art of Assembly
Language. You, too, will learn this powerful programming language easier
than ever before possible using The Art of Assembly Language Programming
(AoA)."

Any help?

AOA is available from NoStarch Press (electronic version accompanies
book). Electronic version at Webster is out of date. Randy can't update
the Webster version because of contract with NoStarch. The Windows and
Linux pages have not been updated for some time and I don't think the
Windows code work with the current HLA library.

There are two books currently published AOA and Writing Great Code.
I think he his currently working on HLA 2.0 and then the Windows book.
His contract with NoStarch is for three books.

You don't know how I wish I did. Seriously. I'd chew through the
restraints to get a copy even in dead tree form. (sigh)

Not really. I don't like the idea of mixing Pascal in with ASM. Dr.
Hyde's work is incredible though. I read AoA long ago before the HLASM
stuff though. That book was really good for beginners.

Music tablature program
For any of you musicians out there - do you have any trouble accessing TablEdit formatted tablature? I've tried a couple of times to install and run the free reader, and it crashes and burns every time. Not the computer - just the app. TablEdit is an EXTREMELY common format, and I've downloaded the reader install off the creator's website before each install, so it's legit. I can run other tab programs - TabRite, Powertab, etc, but this one - the one that I really really want right now - won't cooperate. Suggestions? Thoughts? I turned off antivirus, etc, d...
