Flash cookie clearing with Adobe Flash 10.3.181.14

REQUIREMENTS: Adobe Flash 10.3.181.14. (released May 12, 2011)

Flash cookies (LSOs local stored objects) can now be cleared in the
Flash Control Panel or directly in the browser if you have recent
versions of IE or Firefox.

Browsers that integrate Flash cookie crumbling:
*         Internet Explorer 8
*         Internet Explorer 9
*         Firefox 4
*         Chrome 11?

Flash Control Panel:
After youve installed the latest (as of this message) Adobe Flash, you
will have a Flash Player applet in your computers Control Panel. From
here, its easy to clear Flash cookies and even see which flash
cookies you have installed. I only had one from Microsoft from
ie.microsoft.com.

Note also that the Advanced tab of the Flash Player control panel applet
allows you to check for Flash updates for both the ActiveX (for IE) and
PlugIn (for every other browser) versions of Flash. No doubt that
future Flash foul-ups will require frequent visits here.

More info on the new Flash control panel on Adobes Macromedia site:
http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager.html

Adobes announcement of new Flash:
http://blogs.adobe.com/asset/2011/05/advancing-flash-player-privacy-and-security.html?PID=4176442

Internet Explorer:
Internet Explorer 8 and 9 will clear Flash cookies when you delete history.

Microsoft announcement:
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ie/archive/2011/05/03/deleting-flash-cookies-made-easier.aspx

Note that Microsoft added an API to IE 8 and IE 9 that allows Adobe to
hook their Flash cookie clearer into IE's Delete History feature. Not
available in IE 7 and earlier. Use Flash Control Panel instead.

Microsoft test page for checking:
http://ie.microsoft.com/testdrive/Browser/FlashCookies/Default.html
I created a "jalopy" Flash cookie, then cleared it using IE 8's "Safety"
- "Delete Browsing History".

Firefox:
Firefox 4 also includes a similar API. Adobe's new flash cookie clearer
has tied into that.
http://blog.sidstamm.com/2011/05/clearing-flash-cookies-using-firefox.html
Not available in Firefox 3.x and earlier. Use Flash Control Panel instead.

It appears that the latest Chrome supports the same API mechanism as
Firefox, and should also delete Flash cookies when clearing history/cookies.

Old stand-by Flash cookie crushers:
* The Better Privacy add-on for Firefox has allowed users to delete
these Flash cookies for about 2 years now.
* I've read that CCLEANER can be used to delete these LSO cookies as
well:  Add %APPDATA%\Macromedia\Flash Player\#SharedObjects\ into
CCleaner's "Include" options.

"Better Privacy" extension works well with Linux FF - reports additions;
allows easy deletions. Have it delete as much as possible.

IMHO the browser-based and Flash-based LSO deletion is likely a red
herring, as in addition to LSOs, Adobe puts history info *inside* the
settings.sol, AND constructs site-specific directory structures within
the .macromedia directory. It also constructs a UUID within the .adobe
directory.

Write a little script that deletes both of those directories at startup,
shutdown, and upon demand; don't waste your time visiting the Flash
"settings manager" page.
