Something is definitely wrong with your updater. Even Firefox 3.5 latest
is 3.5.10 released June 22th.

Just been notified and updated to 3.6.7.

Upon first launch after update, FF tried to take me to a "release
notes" page which however did not exist (404!). Has Mozilla started to
slip downhill ?

Thanks for helping us beta test Firefox 3.6.7!
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/3.6.7/whatsnew/

And the explanation is:
"Anyone who installs a pre-release (alpha or beta) Firefox build
automatically becomes part of our Beta Testers program. To leave the
program, simply download and install Firefox from firefox.com."

Did you have a pre-release version of Firefox installed?
(same question was also in mozilla.support.firefox)

Actually, yes, I switched to 3.6.y-prerelease sometime when 3.5.x
started acting up upon me... This explains that - but I didn't
realise I was/am still stuck with prerelease updates. Am I going to
switch back to regular updates /automagically/ at some later point,
maybe when FF hits the 3.7 mark ?

I'm not complaining about the 3.6 builds anyway, they work good here.

According to the explanation, you should download and install an
"official" version of Firefox, otherwise you will stay a "Beta Tester".

>I'm not complaining about the 3.6 builds anyway, they work good here.

I am a satisfied user of version 3.6.6 portable.

Firefox 3.5 updates after 3.6 is released
As I understand it, Firefox 3.6 will be treated as a minor update to 3.5.x. Does that mean that there will not be any 3.5.x updates after 3.6 is released? It's not 100% decided yet, but if we issue a Firefox 3.6 as a minor update, then yes, we'd stop supporting the 1.9.1 branch at that time. There are several confounding issues with this approach, ho...
