Update 2 for Delphi 2009 is now available

Update 2 for C++Builder 2009 and Delphi 2009 (and the Delphi and C++Builder portions of RAD Studio 2009) is now available.

You'll be prompted to download the update when you start/restart the IDE if you chose to be notified when updates are available. You can also get the update by running Check for Updates from the Start menu.

If you need to reinstall or access the update separately, you can get it from our registered users download page at http://cc.codegear.com/item/26310

Release notes for the update are at: http://dn.codegear.com/article/39005

The bug fix list for the update is at: http://dn.codegear.com/article/39051

I was excited up until the point of reading the list of fixes. Nothing in here for me.

When I run that with Update 1 installed, I get a message saying "No CodeGear
RAD Studio 2009 updates available". Since Update 2 is database updates, I
imagine that Update 2 will not do anything if no database items were
previously installed.

From the release notes:
******
General Notes
This update contains fixes for approximately 15 problems in many product
areas.
For a complete list of the specific problems fixed in this update, see
http://dn.codegear.com/article/39051/.
*****
I count 9, not 15 problems in one, not many, product areas -- databases. No
doubt these are important to people, and much appreciated, but the whole
update seems a little on the sparse side.

Yeah, it's not a "general" update. If you don't use dbExpress or ADO, don't get too
excited. But glad to see it, nonetheless.

Same here.
Maybe the list is incomplete? The release notes state 15 fixes in many area,
there aren't so many in the bug list and they're DB-only.

I have canceled the update process. Now the update checker states "No
updates available"! Thats all!

Well done and thanks for this update, however none of those fixes really
bothered me before.

I don't want to be ungrateful, at least you did some work on the most
current Delphi version, but if you could come up with the other fixes
mainly in the VCL and IDE area, I would be even more pleased.

Update 1 and Update 2 were small scope and focused on VCL and then DB respectively. A larger update is in the works, it will take some time to complete and touches all areas of the product. No ETA, sorry...

We've also been testing a RAVE build and are going through the final paces. It should address the known printer related bugs and several critical errors.

Cheers,

Chris

There is a auto update application included since D2007. This would be
the easiest option to upgrade.

Delphi XE2 Update 1 is now available
Here is the official announcement: Update 1 for Delphi and C++Builder XE2 is now available. This update includes more than 120 bug fixes and addresses an important licensing issue. We were recently made aware that some code in the 3D support in FireMonkey may be similar to code in GLScene, an MPL open source project. We worked with Eric Grange, a key contributor to the GLScene project to remedy the issue and replace the code in question. This update replaces the code in question and therefore it is highly recommended that you rebuild any applications compiled with the original FireMon...
