Delphi XE2: [DCC Fatal Error] F2039 Could not create output file.

Hello,

Sometimes the Delphi IDE (XE2) comes in a state where i can not run the application anymore
and the message screen says: "Could not create output file .\win32\debug\app.exe";
I have to restart the IDE or I have to delete the app.exe with the explorer and it is strange
because the executable is not readonly. I wonder if someone has seen this behavior also.

Greets.

Personnaly I use ProcessExplorer to "terminate" the handle that BDS is
still using, much faster than restarting the IDE.

Hello.

I use D2009E and often get this message if I restart my app too quickly
after closing it down. (Running it in the IDE)
I just wait some seconds and try again. Then it starts.

I like to make sure my files are saved first! And Delphi XE is quite quick to close.

Hello,

It seems it's a general problem but there is no
special way to reproduce it (yet). Please use
the following thread if you find a way to
reproduce this:

It usually means the file is still open, eg. your program is still
running somewhere or has not closed properly (possibly due to a crash),
or possibly Delphi is still debugging it.
Check task manager processes to see if it is there and end the process,
otherwise restart Delphi.

I spent 3 days trying to track this one down. Came down to having Castalia 2013.3.4 installed. I miss Castalia, but I don't miss not having to shutdown my IDE every 3 minutes. I was able to reproduce the error many times with just the default blank 'new VCL application'...no components, etc, which led me to believe it was some IDE addon. I removed everything one by one. Once Castalia was removed the problem went away. Putting everything back (except Castalia) and I have not seen the issue.

Also, if you have Castalia, and you have a 'default debug desktop' set, and try to run the debugger while a different IDE desktop is set, the IDE will crash. 2013.3.4 was supposed to fix this, but it didn't for me.

I suffered this some time ago. It turned out to be that I had disabled certain Windows service... I think it was "Application Experience". Once re-enabled, the problem went away.

Holpe it helps.

Thanks. Maybe this is the real problem. The last period I didn't had this problem anymore (XE3)
I can't check it but It seems another person solved it in the same manner.

Error Message F2039 Could not create output file (output file name)
First, thank you in advance for any help you might be able to provide. I made a few changes to my application, i.e., added several units from an older version, and got the above error message when I attempted to execute it. Even after I went through and removed the recently added on units, I am still getting the error message and termination. What do I have to do to clean this up? I cannot see where something changed that I did not undo from removing the recently added-on, troublesome units. Once again, thank you very much. John Shyer I am using Delphi XE on Windows 7. Delphi 7 to Delphi XE2
Hi, Still using that old workhorse, Delphi7, but am going to the conference in London hosted by Embarcadero on Delphi XE2. Although I would like to "move with the times" and am keen to get the UNICODE and 64-bit support offered by the latest IDEs, I confess to being more than a little scared about all the UNICODE/String/AnsiString and 32/64 bit issues I'm probably going to fall over. Anyone recently upgraded from Delphi7 to one of the latest Delphi IDEs? Thanks, Alain On 03/02/2012 08:55, Alain Dekker wrote: > Still using that old workhorse, Delphi7, but...

Error F2039 "Could not create output file"
I am porting RAD 2006 to RAD 2010 on a Windows 7 computer. I put units into a package without a RegisterComponents and compiled the package. It compiled and installed. I then realized that there was no RegisterComponents since the design components did not show up in the pallet. I then wrote a register unit and tried to compile the same package that had compiled before and got the error F2039 "Could not create output file". Sure enough there is no *.bpl for the package. I have Googled this and some of the answers are: (Copied from the search) * You don't have the re...

FMX file missing error for Delphi XE2 VCL only project [Edit]
Very new to XE2 (and no exact idea what FM is or how it works), i'm struggling to find an explanation for this problem: I have a program that is already being developed for D2007. Ported to Delphi XE2 and unicode being all resolved (hundreds!), i get this last error: " +[DCC Error] E1026 File not found: 'FMXTee.Editor.Stroke.fmx+' (and few others for the same FMXTee unit )". It certainly has to do with 'uses' but i have no FM units in use or needed... then probably some kind of dependencies related to th e environment variables, but what exactly? Thanks. ric...

Generating Datamodule

[I'm building a Blackfish equivalent, so it will be a DBExpress / Blackfish solution, so Paradox is irrelevant, just being used as source for database defintion] I've been able to generate a PAS and DFM file that will compile, but when I try to link I get the follow...

How to use a delphi XE3 obj file in delphi 2007?
