XE6 installer creates "Studio" folders instead of "RAD Studio": bug or not? [Edit]

XE6 installer in default configuration installs all files in "Program Files\Studio" instead of "Program Files\RAD Studio"; all samples etc go in "...Public\Documents\Embarcadero\Studio" instead of "Public Documents\RAD Studio". Is this correct or is it a bug? If this is intended behavior, does anybody know why default structure of installation folders is not the same as in the prior versions?

It is intentional. With the introduction of AppMethod, Embarcadero is changing
the folder names to make them more generic. However, in the case of "Program
Files" specifically, since they do not create an "Embarcadero" parent folder,
the use of "Studio" vs "RAD Studio" is too generic in many people's opinion.
It is not a problem with "Documents" since there is an "Embarcadero" parent
folder.

Expected, AFAIK the changes may be related to the new AppMethod.

It is good to know, thank you. I do not like this kind of changes, but as long as it is not a bug - it does not really matter.

Well, it does matter, because there are plenty of other third-party products
that have "Studio" folders of their own, so Embarcadero really needs to be
consistent about creating "Embarcadero" parent folders to avoid conflicts.

Note that you are prompted for folder names during install. So, if you
don't like the defaults you are free to use what pleases you.

Sure, this is why I wrote "in default configuration".

Still, I just had to clarify the reason for this change. Otherwise it is very easy to create a mess and to lose track of what is installed, where and by which version.
This is especially so if somebody has different versions installed on top of each other, plus - several versions of third-party components, which is my case exactly. So, it for some reason the old structure of installation folders would violate new requirements - I would like to know about it rather sooner than later.

Yes, I agree with you: I will have to change the structure of installation folders for some components as well as probably reinstall the XE2 version according to the new structure. But, given all problems that I had with XE4 and XE5, on the scale from 1 to 10, this problem has the score minus 99. This is why I said "it does not matter".

I never install to Program Files. I have an Embarcadero top level
folder on drive C: and I always change the install directories in the
installation program to point to an subdirectory of that folder. That
prevents many problems, and I installed XE6 under the
C:\Embarcadero\RAD Studio subdirectory.

Is "Bug Changes" multi-select an "and" or an "or"?
Either I'm confused, or there is a defect with the way that advanced searching in the "Bug Changes" box works (perhaps both).
