"E2202 Required package 'rtl' not found" Error with XE2.

So I installed XE2, and all of the 3rd party component automated installs worked fine. But when I try to manually install other 3rd party components (that don't have an automated installer), I get the "E2202 Required package 'rtl' not found" error.

I have tried uninstalling XE2, reinstalling, repairing, modifying, etc. but still get the same error message.

Any ideas?

Problem solved. I found that the following paths were missing from the library path:

* d:\delphixe2\lib\win32\debug
* d:\delphixe2\lib\win32\release
* d:\delphixe2\lib\win64\debug
* d:\delphixe2\lib\win64\release

Once I added these paths I was able to install the components.

This will cause issues if you build 64 bit programs. The correct path is
$(BDSLIB)\$(Platform)\release. Do not hit the delete invalid paths button as
that will remove it. From a global standpoint $(Platform) is not defined. From
a project standpoint it is and it is important that the compiler/linker knows to
look at 32/64 or OSX binaries. What you did it will find the dcu (or in your
case it was looking for the dcp) in the win32 one and stop there but it will be
wrong for the other platforms.

Thanks Jeff, I removed my settings and added the one you recommended. It makes me wonder my it wasn't there in the first place but at least it's working now.

If you noticed it is grayed out because at the global level platform is not
defined (well technically doesn't have any meaning, only at the project level is
there a current platform) so it looks like it is an invalid path, if you happen
to hit delete invalid paths it will delete it. It is known to the dev team,
hopefully it will be resolved in an upcoming patch but for now I recommend
acting as if that button does not exist.

But the strange thing is I have *never* clicked that button in XE2. I uninstalled and reinstalled XE2 three times and each time the '$(BDSLIB)\$(Platform)\release' path was not in the list - I took screenshots of the library paths for comparison purposes when I was trying to work out what was causing the problem with manually installing the 3rd party components. Looks like it may be a problem with the installed. Anyhow, the important thing is it's working now.

Replace(txt,"'","''") in code-behind
i'm creating a file named client.vb using my wordpad. I'm using this as a code-behind sort of thing. The problem is I want to remove the ' from my strings so that i can put them in SQL statements. The Replace doesn't work, is there any other way to this. thanks. Can you show me the code sample you have for the string.Replace() method? That should work for you. You should instead use Sql Parameters to compile and send your query to the db. One of the many benefits of doing so is that you don't need to worry about the single quotes.-- daver True.
