"Missing Connection ro ConnectionString" on Windows 2003 Server, MDAC 2.8

Hi,

I'm a newbie, i've encountered a problem which i've searched google dozens of times and tried for the past 4 days to resolve but without avail, hope to get some advice. :-)

I'm having this weird problem for my D7 software on Windows 2003 Server, MDAC 2.8, in which TADOQuery returns "Missing Connection ro ConnectionString" when trying to connect to a remote SQL Server. In my code, i have defined the following connection string such as:

Provider=MSDASQL.1;Password=password;Persist Security Info=True;User ID=sa;Data Source=DSN;Extended Properties="DSN=test;UID=sa;PWD=password;WSID=Server;DATABASE=DB;Network=DBMSSOCN;Address=dbserver,1433;QueryLogTime=1"

This problem does not occur on another PC such such as Windows XP or even Windows Vista.

Some code snippets:

function Process(aDB:TSQLConnection;aQry:TSQLQuery;adsndb:TADOConnection;adsnqry:.........):integer;
....................
adsndb.Connected :=false;
adsndb.ConnectionString:='Provider=MSDASQL.1;Password='+sPassword+';Persist Security Info=True;User ID='+sUserName+';Data Source='+sDSN;
adsndb.Connected :=true;
adsndb.keepconnection :=true; // i just added this to try to solve the problem.
GetSQLADO(adsnqry);
adsndb.Connected :=false;

procedure GetSQLADO(myQry:TADOQuery);
     var
          sFail:string;
          sNoResult:string;
          s3:string;
     begin
          sFail:=tmpstr;
          sNoResult:=s;
          try myQry.close;except end;
          myQry.sql.clear;
          myQry.sql.add(strContent);
          try
               myQry.prepared:=true;
               if boolSelect  then
               begin
                    myQry.open;

 { Exception appears here -> Missing Connection ro ConnectionString }

Sorry, please ignore this question, i managed to fix the problem - the reason is because TSQLQuery;adsndb isn't mapped to TADOConnection;adsnqry. The code wasn't mine, and i was looking at the wrong places. Thanks.

"Assertion Failed" with ADO connection, Windows 7, Delphi 2007
I have Delphi 2007 for Win 32 installed on both the XP and Win7 OS of my dual boot machine. In Win 7, when I use an ADO connection on a simple Access database, it runs fine, until I reset the program. When I click the Program Reset, I get an error "Assertion Failed". If I click this several times, it goes away, and the program resets. Note: I can build exactly the same program in XP with no problems. What does this error mean? What should i do about it? MDAC 2.5 required to run, cannot install
 Hello!I have a problem with Data Access. There is a DLL i need to use, which was compiled in VB.6 using MDAC 2.5. I am using ..NET 2.0 and on my machine it's MDAC 2.8.When my program is trying to use that DLL, I get an error of connection not being open. The guy who created that DLL says I need to have MDAC 2.5 on my machine in order to use the DLL properly. However, when I download and try to install MDAC 2.5 it tells me that it's already installed on the machine. Yet, when I go to check in the registry, I get 2.8 and 2.6 as a rollback version. Here is the question: how do I i...

Random "Missing Connection or ConnectionString"?!
Hi! I wanted to rewrite one BCB6 application to BCB 2010. The code is almost the same but from time to time a get this "Missing Connection or ConnectionString" exception. It happens when I try to filter records (setting Filtered = true). I use TADOTable (LockType: ltBatchOptimistic, CursorType: ctStatic). So, i fetch data from my access database and then I disconnect TADOTable from TADOConnection using: AdoTable1->Connection = NULL; and I close TADOConnection. And that's how my app works. But, it's like because I disconnected AdoTable from AdoConnection (pr...

Comments: I like Firefox very much, mainly because it's faster than Internet Explorer. There's really only one function I really miss. It is Internet Explorers function when you open a new window (ctrl+n). In IE the whole new window is an exact copy of the one you open it from - you get the same page and keep the "history". So you can for example click back and it takes you one page...
