SFtp connect - Connection Closed Gracefully --but no connect

The following Ftp connect to a sftp site has the right port/usrname/password
[verified thru filezilla], but when I try to connect via TIDFTP -- I get
"Connection Closed Gracefully" upon ftp->Connect();; The ftp properties are
below the code. I have no other Indy objects on the form. It ocurred to me
that I may need something for sftp.

ftp->Connect();
if (ftp->Connected())
{
::Sleep(1);
}

object ftp: TIdFTP
  AutoLogin = True
  Host = 'ftp.dailyaccess.com'
  Password ='XXXXX'
  Port = 21
  Username = 'charles.leggette'
  ProxySettings.ProxyType = fpcmNone
  ProxySettings.Port = 0
  Left = 272
  Top = 120
end

You did not say which version of Indy you are using. Secure FTP is only
supported in Indy 10.

That is part of your problem then. Secure FTP requires that an SSL-enabled
IOHandler component, such as TIdSSLIOHandlerSocketOpenSSL, be attached to
TIdFTP and configured properly prior to connecting to the server.

socket closed
Hi, i have code that looks something like this: my $sock = IO::Socket::INET->new(%args); my $sel = new IO::Select $sock; while (1) { my @ready = IO::Select->can_read(1); foreach my $socket (@ready) { # read a line my $line = <$socket>; &do_stuff_with_line($line); } # end foreach # do other stuff } # end while which works just great, except for when the remote server closes the connection on the socket i've opened. IO::Select seems to return t...

Closing a socket
How do I close a socket that I open like this: transportService = Components.classes["@mozilla.org/network/socket-transport-service;1"] .getService(Components.interfaces.nsISocketTransportService); transport = transportService.createTransport(null,0,host,port,null); I can't work out where to find this information. I discovered http://lxr.mozilla.org/seamonkey/source/netwerk/base/public/nsISocketTransportService.idl which I think means that my transportService variable only has one function createTransport(), so I'm assuming that shutting it down is do...

Probably dumb question about IO::Socket::INET and "how-to-close-instances-of-socket-handles"
Hi there! To make it short: I create a socket with, for example, $server=IO::Socket::Inet->new(bla) I then accept various connections with $client = $server->accept() (making use of the IO::Select module to find out if someone tries to connect to the socket btw.) Finally I want to disconnect people/machines again for various reasons that don't matter. I've tried $client->close and $client->shutdown, but this results in errors, and also shutdown($client), what also results in an error, and finally close ($client), which does not result in an error, ...

WebBroker Socket Closing
I have a DataSnap WebBroker app using IdHTTPWebbrokerBridge using Delphi XE5. As long as web requests come in one at a time the app works great, but I have a couple methods that may take up to 30 seconds to complete. If web request "A" comes in and is taking 30 seconds to complete, and in the middle web request "B" comes in, which is very fast (<1 sec), then I have a problem when request "A" completes and tries to do a Response.SendResponse (to send a file the user requested) because apparently request "B " closed the socket connection and I'm ge...

How to close ASE gracefully??
Does anyone have a batch script I can run on an NT server that will close ASE 12.0 gracefully and then open it back up? I need to write a batch file that will allow a backup procedure to take place of the server and I want to write a script to shut down and then restart ASE12.0. Any help is a big help... Thanks! Socket Closed (7503)
Hi. we have an application written in VB6 that connects to ASE 15.0 Express on linux using ODBC. Its been working fine for a month and and now ASE is rejecting new user connections. We have not changed anything. The Linux is Fedora Core 4 and the server works 24/7 (we never shut it down). The message that we get is "Socket Closed" and the error number is 7503. Any ideas? Thanks, Oliverio The problem was solved. It was caused by a failed dump database. The device in unix lost the permisions and sybase could not write to it. Since the backup process ...

how to find out if a socket is closed
Hi I have two problems. First, there's a common socket. How can i test in perl, if a socket is closed (tcp)? Is there a function for it. I've read the manual, but i found nothing. The second: I have an opened socket, connected to a server (tcp). It sends something like: socket(CGSPSERVER, AF_INET, SOCK_STREAM, $proto) || die; my $oldfh = select(CGSPSERVER); $| = 1; select($oldfh); if (!connect(CGSPSERVER,$sock_peer)) { die; }; send(CGSPSERVER,$ipc_cmd1,0); and want to receive an answer: while ($line = <CGSPSERVER>) { push(@answer, $line); } But it do...

close on exec for sockets
I never liked $^F. You have to set it to a number before you can know what number you'll get, which seems pretty nutty. Seems fundamentally wrong, you nkow? Please remind me again why we're marking regular pipe opens' descriptors as being close on exec? And then, having done that, why we're not also so marking sockets or socketpairish pipes? Enclosed please find a small but probably suprisingly interesting demo of this issue and various others. Tested on OpenBSD and Redhate. I see that GNU make leaks fds compared with BSD make. Socket Closed error
We have a production and a test server that both have ASE 12.5.4 running on AIX. A user wants to run some queries in am Access database that uses linked tables to pull data from our Sybase database. The queries run successfully when the tables are linked to production environment. But The user would consistently receive error '[sybase wire protocol driver] Socket Closed'. I checked Sybase error log and found error message 'ksmask__rpacket: Invalid tdslength value ****' were logged at the same time as the user experienced 'Socket Closed' error. I have...
