10.2.2 to 10.3.2 upgrade pathHi,
What is the recommended way to upgrade 10.2.2 to 10.3.2?
1. Upgrade primaries and satelittes to 10.3.0a via SU, manually selecting
the servers
2. Upgrade primaries, satelittes and devices to 10.3.2 via SU and stages.
Do I need to upgrade all the devices with 10.3.0a before going to 10.3.2 or
will the 10.3.2 upgrade do this for me as long as the 10.3.0a update is
downloaded and available?
Can 10.2.2 communicate with 10.3.0a/10.3.2 backend?
Thank you
Kasper
Kasper,
have you checked the instructions in the readme? http://www.novell.com/documentation/zcm10/read...
10.2.2 to 10.3.2 direct upgrade?
So we've been struggling with Zen 10 for a long time and we just
recently worked with Novell on going directly from 10.2.2 to 10.3.1 on
the clients without having to reboot multiple times... is there going to
be a 10.2.2 to 10.3.2 upgrade? Because it sounds like we're going to
have to reboot twice again??
Also out of curiosity I did a "Check for Updates" and my "Update for
ZCM 10.2.x to ZCM 10.3.1" was removed... yay. :-(

ZCM 10.2.2 - 10.3 on a windows server 2008 R2 server
Hi there, I have ZCM 10.2.2 running on a windows 2008 R2 server, this
has been running some time in a test enviroment and is working fine with
client devices etc but the issue was the fact that the ZAA on the server
wouldnt register/recognise server etc, now that i'm trying to deploy the
10.3a update it wont update on the server as its the ZAA that performs
the update, what can i do to get this recognised by the system -
basically i want to have a 10.3 enviroment before it is rolled out live,
i would prefer not to have to start afresh as i have compiled lots of
bundles and confi...
Attachments Missing Migrating 2.2 on Linux to 3.2.3 on Windows IIS6I have been trying to migrate an existing Bugzilla 2.2 installation on a
Linux server over to a new Windows 2003 installation. I basically installed
all the components and then create the a new Bugs database and restore my
slqdump from the old Linux installation. I then run the checksetup.pl and it
upgrades the database and everything completes successfully. The Bugzilla
site works great and all the bugs in the database appear to be there. The
problem that I have noticed is that about 25% of the bugs that had
attachments show the attachments as being deleted. When I check the

10.2.2->10.3 Works, just 10.3 install doesn't
I have a very odd issue. If i install 10.2.2 and then upgrade it to
10.3 through the system update deployment, everything works fine.
If i try to install 10.3 on a fresh machine without installing 10.2.2
first it starts failing on things like downloading DAU, downloading
group policy files, etc.
Any ideas? I have run the post-10.3 patch after installing it the day
it came out. I have rebuilt my preagent packages.....still not
working...

How to revert from 10.3 to 10.2.2
Windows 2003 + ZCM 10.3. Same problems as many others with SP3. We want
to revert to 10.2.2. Is there anyway to do this or is a complete restore
of the server the only possible solution?
We already tried a restore of the complete D:\Novell (this is our ZCM
installation path) but after ythat the "Novell Zenworks Embeded
Datastore" won't start anymore.

From 2.1.2 to 3.1 or 2.1.2 to 3.0.13 to 3.1
I'm checking back in after being away for a couple of months and I missed the 3.1 release. I can't seem to find any info on what's new in 3.1 and also what the upgrade path should be. So, is the recommended path for upgrading from v 2.1.2 to go directly to 3.1 or do I need to go to 3.0.13 first? Are there any big issues in 3.1 that make it a "gotta have it" version?I did a couple of 2.1.2 to 3.0.12 upgrades but haven't upgraded to or tested 3.1 yet. I have one 2.1.2 site that is commercial and I need it to be down as little time as possible. It also has a lot of third party modules...
10.2.0 to 10.3.3
When deploying an update to the ZCM Agent on various workstations from
10.2 (exact sub-version unknown, I can get it if necessary) to 10.3.3
with the requisite stopover at 10.3.0a, in many though not all cases the
update "hangs" waiting for CASA.MSI to be processed.
During the processing of CASA.MSI, it launches a sub-process of
'micasad.exe /install'. (In some cases it does this twice, the second
time with additional arguments for a REINSTALL scenario.)
micasad.exe itself then launches a sub-process of 'regsvr32 /s /n /i

error after upgrading Bugzilla from 3.2.2 to 3.2.3Hi,
I have two Windows Server 2003 machines running Bugzilla 3.2.2 +
Testopia 2.2, one is production and the other is for test, both have
same configuration. I tried to upgrade it with patch file
bugzilla-3.2.2-to-3.2.3.diff.gz, and my steps are:
1) Shut down your Bugzilla installation by putting some HTML or text
in the shutdownhtml parameter
2) untar the .diff file and use unix2dos.exe to replace Unix line
feed characters with Windows carriage returns
3) run the command: path -p1 < bugzilla-3.2.2-to-3.2.3.diff
4) run the command: perl checksetup.pl

update to 10.3.1 from 10.2.2well, I know that I have to apply 10.3 first and then 10.3.1 on the
server side, but, just to make sure, is it possible to upgrade the
server in the 2 steps and then roll-out the 10.3.1 to the clients or,,
will the clients also do a 2 step upgrade ?
Hope Im making myself somewhat clear here....,
Thought I'd do the update this weekend so we wont interfere with the
users so much, and from what I gather, the 10.3.0 client hasnt been
exactly 100% in terms of login/performance,etc.
I have that same issue.
It seems that there is no way around it - it will boot 2 times.

ZCM update from 10.2.2 to 10.3
Hello I am sorry if this is in the wrong section but I am in a jam. I am
running ZCM 10.2.2 on a SLES box. I noticed there was a 10.3a update so
I downloaded it and deployed. I now have a different agent on the
workstations than on the server so they won't talk. I assumed that the
update would update the server as well. I was wrong. I have 2 questions.
What did I do wrong and how do I fix it. I am not good with linux at
all. I would think I have to update the server?

Upgrade from 10.2.0 to 10.2.2
Is there a direct migration path from 10.2.0 to 10.2.2?
In my ZCC, the following updates are 'Baselined': 10.1.1, 10.1.2a and
10.1.3.
Not everyone is running Support Pack 2 for 10.2 so it isn't
'Baselined'.
I have an option for 10.3, but it doesn't show 10.2.1 or 10.2.2.
Thanks in advance,
Eric
