When I run ZoneAlarm and test "All Service Ports" I get a 400 bad request
"page cannot be found", and no results to the test. If I turn off
ZoneZlarm, it gives results. Does this mean ZoneAlarm passes the test so
well that the results can't even come thru?

I have converted a web service from vb.net 2003 to vb.net 2008. Everything works okay on the my developer PC. I am running Vista Business, VS 2008 Developer Team, IIS7. After copying the compiled files to the web server virtual directory, I am unable to test the service from the web server. At the web server IE, I type in http://localhost/virtual dir name/filename.asmx. This returns the HTTP 400 error. Our web server is running Server 2003 and IIS6. All the other web services (written in .net 2003) that are installed on this same server function correctly. Can anyone explain what I am doing ...Web app calling Web service error The request failed with HTTP status 401: Unauthorized

I like the new "Visual Web Developer Web Server" (Do you want suggestions for a longer name!) but I have an issue with using it to host a Web Service.
Whenever the Web Service is recompiled and run it ends up with a different port number. Therefore, it seems that any references to that WS in other applications are invalidated and need to be re-established when it's run again.
Is there a way of pinning the port number, or am I missing something?

The message we get when we try and add the web reference is "unable download following files http://10.0.1.7/codered/service.asmx?wsdl". Which is using the internal ip address of the web server. We have check the IIS where the web service has been published to. But could not see why it is using the internal ip and not the external ip address. The actual url is http://188.8.131.52/codered/service.asmx
Here is the service description sample, maybe someone can check this, as this has the internal ip address at the bottom.

I've just discovered an error my DataSnap client is receiving calling a server method when passing a particularly large string as the parameter to the method. The call causes a DBXException error with "Bad Request". My client is running on an Android phone and the error only occurs when using 3G, on Wi-fi everything works fine. Every other call works fine, it's just this call with the large parameter.
Is there some restriction on the size of the underlying HTTP call when using 3G networks? My DataSnap server is built with Delphi XE2, I'm using the DataSnap m..."□" character is not taken by the XML web service in .net framework??
