Procedure or Function 'syl_EmailQueueInsert' expects parameter '@EmailCC', which was not supplied.

We have a email table in the database (SQL Server 2005). When we try to execute the Insert Stored Proc in the database to add a record and leave the EmailCC and EmailBCC fields blank we are getting the following error:

Msg 201, Level 16, State 4, Procedure syl_EmailQueueInsert, Line 0

Procedure or Function 'syl_EmailQueueInsert' expects parameter '@EmailCC', which was not supplied.

The EmailCC and EmailBCC are set to allow nulls. Shouldn’t the system automatically insert nulls into those colums if no value is supplied??? What am I doing wrong?

I am guessing you did not even define a parameter called @EmailCC. You can only excape from not providing a value, if it accepts null, but you should atleast define it in your parameter collection

@EmailCC nvarchar(512),

@EmailBCC nvarchar(512),

@EmailFrom nvarchar(512),

@EmailSubject nvarchar(512),

@EmailBody nvarchar(2028),

@NextTryTime datetime,

@NumberOfTries int,

@DateAdded datetime,

@LanguageID int

AS

BEGIN

-- SET NOCOUNT ON added to prevent extra result sets from

-- interfering with SELECT statements.

SET NOCOUNT ON;

BEGIN TRY

INSERT INTO [syl_EmailQueue]

VALUES(

@EmailPriority,

@EmailBodyFormat,

@EmailTo,

@EmailCC,

@EmailBCC,

@EmailFrom,

@EmailSubject,

@EmailBody,

@NextTryTime,

@NumberOfTries,

@DateAdded,

@LanguageID)

SELECT SCOPE_IDENTITY() AS [EmailQueueID]

RETURN

END TRY

BEGIN CATCH

--Execute LogError SP

EXECUTE [dbo].[syl_LogError];

--Being in a Catch Block indicates failure.

--Force RETURN to -1 for consistency (other return values are generated, such as -6).

RETURN -1

END CATCH

END

Look at the code you are writing to execute this procedure. That is where the error is coming from.

You missed the parameters which are required for the stored procedure.

Make sure you have added the following parameter:

sqlcmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@EmailCC", emailCC);

Good Luck.
