Serious problems using Oracle 10g 10.2.0 Client with DBD-Oracle module loaded on Windows!

We are migrating from Oracle 8i to 10g. The PowerBuilder
9.0.2 application is extremely slow using PowerBuilder
Oracle 8.4 or 9.0 native driver to connect to Oracle 10g
database, We had to use 7.3 driver. After using trace we
found that the SQL scripts with index hint cause slow down,
but they are working ok using Oracle 8.4 driver with Oracle
8i database. Any suggestion which is best way to connect
from PowerBuilder 9.0.2 to Oracle 10g database? We have
tried the Oracle 8.1.7 client and Oracle 9.0 client.

Reading and writing all goes fine when running from the IDE. On a random

Seems we cannot disable unicode in DBParm if we use DBMS=O10.
Not even with DBMS=O90
The only way we can disable it is using DBMS=O84.
Which is documented...
The problem is that our sp's get extra garbage because of unicode.
Any thoughts anyone ?
They shouldn't get 'extra garbage', the character translation is the
responsibility of the driver. That said, there was an issue, where
data binding could cause a problem. Check out the latest EBF and the

I understand .NET 2.0 shipped with Membership and Roles feature out of the box. However, I am not using SQL Server nor I am using Form Authentication. I am using Oracle DB and would like to leverage off this wonderful feature. Does anyone know how I can accomplish this without reinventing the wheel? I heard of the term custom provider but not clear how it would fit in with the Membership & Roles.

How do I configure Oracle Wire Protocol ODBC Driver to
connect to an Oracle RAC 10G instance.
The current odbc driver version is 4.20.00.81
The v4.2 driver does not have support for Oracle 10g features. You can use
this driver to connect to an Oracle 10g server, but you won't be able to use
any Oracle 10g features such as RAC or the new data types in Oracle 10g.

I am pretty new in the Linux area and I am trying to install DBD:Oracle
