I want to install on the same machine VS2003 and SQL 2000 to study for MCAD and VS2005/SQL server 2005 for ASP.NET 2.0 development.
I used to install two images of WinXP one for .NET1.1 dev and the other for .NET 2.0 but everytime you need to switch from .NET1.1 development to .NET2.0 I need to reboot and launch the other winxp image.
any help would be appreciated.

You can detach the database using sp_detach_db and then re-attach it to
your SSE instance using sp_attach_db. This should work
seamlessly, but back up first, just in case.Adam MachanicSQL Server MVP...migration from sql server express 2005 to sql server 2000 enterprise

I've been migrating some DB from MS SQL 2000 to MS SQL 2005 all works fine but I have one problem with stored procedures.
Even if there is actually no errors I get the message "The transaction ended in the trigger. The batch has been aborted.".
The record is succesfully deleted but still I get the message above. I know MS SQL 2005 added the try/catch block did they change something else that cause compatibility issues with 2000?

I have VS.net 2005 and SQL Sever Express 2005 on my Dev workstation, created a new web site based on the Personal site starter kit. I have a Windows 2003 Server running IIS and SQL Server 2000 which I want to move the app to. So the first thing I did was to create a new database on SQL Server 2000, ran the Personal-add.sql Script, and forgot what I had to do to get the ASPNETDB database in place, copied the data, and updated the web.config file's connection string to connect to the SQL Server 2000. So the web site on the dev PC can connect to the SQL Server 2000 data...Migrating from SQL Express to SQL 2005

You probably don't need to do anything. Just attach the database and ensure that any logins you created for your Sql Express are set up on the full version. The database format is identical.Regards Mike [MVP - ASP/ASP.NET]My site

Here's the scenario:

I originally setup my project using the default Membership provider, which uses the default ASPNETDB SQL 2005 Express database in the App_Data folder. In this configuration, I was calling the Membership.GetUser() method and passing it a username (string) to retrieve membership info for other users in the system so that I could work with their properties. All of this was working perfectly.
