You must set the credential for the request:

HttpWebRequest req = (HttpWebRequest)WebRequest.Create(http://someur.com/page.aspx);
req.Credentials = new System.Net.NetworkCredentials("user","pass");

If this answers your question, please select 'mark as answer' thanks!

As far as I know this error is nothing to do with user credentials for the request.

I would reccomend you first try run it with the full trust (set it in web.config).

If it works, then restore web.config and add permissions for WebPermissions, e.g. from sharepoint:

                            <IPermission class="WebPermission" version="1">
                                <ConnectAccess>
                                     <URI uri="http://someur.com/page.aspx" />
                                </ConnectAccess>
                            </IPermission>
G'luck!

Hello, We have a web cluster setup where all the IIS sites are configured to point at network search via an unc path to pick up there files.  We have been running with this configuration for a number of months without any issues and recently we have randomly been receiving an exception of "Request for the permission of type 'System.Web.AspNetHostingPermission, System, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed." once the exception occurs the site goes down until we restart the application pool at which point everyth...

All, I would be most grateful for any help, ideas or pointers as it's been 15 hours I been working on this without any luck, and I'll leave this in the competent hands of the .NET forum gurus before getting some sleep. My ASP.NET 2.0 Ajax website works fine on my local machine. When I copy the files across to my shared host (Fasthosts - UK) I get the following exception:[SecurityException: Request for the permission of type 'System.Data.SqlClient.SqlClientPermission, System.Data, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed.] MyGeneration.dOOdads.DynamicQuery.Load(String conjuction) +239 MyGeneration.dOOdads.DynamicQuery.Load() +11I am using MyGeneration's Doodads as my DBAL, which is compiled into a .dll and used by my .aspx pages for data access. This error is caused when my applications on the remote server tries to query the SQL database for the first time. I have added: [assembly: AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers] attribute to AssemblyInfo.cs of my MyGeneration.dOOdads.dll, as well as signed the assembly with a strong name key file. I know this is to do with permissions and have called Fasthosts to increase the permissions, however they have said, their shared hosting is pre-configured and they will not change any settings or permissions.Any ideas on how to get around this in addition to what I have already tried? Also if someone has experienced a similar problem then please let know if I should ditch fasthosts and switc...

Request for the permission of type 'System.Web.AspNetHostingPermission, System, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed
Hello,  I developed an asp.net application on my local hard drive.  We decided to buy a .net development server which we will start using to develop on instead of our local machine.  I deployed the application to the windows server and it runs fine.  Then I mapped a drive on my computer to the virtual directory on the server where the application is installed.  Now I created a blank solution and chose "Add Existing Website" and pointed to this shared drive.  When I try to build the website I get the following error:  Error 1 Request for the permission of type 'System.Web.AspNetHostingPermission, System, Version=2.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed.   I did some searching on the internet and found lots of people with this error message for various reasons.  I've tried doing some of the steps they used to fix the problem but they haven't worked for me.  The most common response seems to be to follow the steps in this article: http://support.microsoft.com/?id=320268, which I tried but with no luck.  I have a Code Group with a URL membership condition of file:////\\cmcfs1\DotNet\* and my share name is \\cmcfs1\DotNet and inside of their is the virtual directory CJIS.  So I have added the website \\cmcfs1\DotNet\CJIS\ and clicked Build and I still get the error. Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you. Sincerely, Chris Yates &nb...

Hi, I’m having a problem that has me going out of my mind. Here’s what’s happening: I’m invoking a web service (WS) from an aspx page. Then that WS calls a SAP WS that is in a different machine. The first WS is published in a virtual directory in the default web site of IIS (Windows Server 2003) with Integrated Windows Authentication. The request gets threw to the first WS successfully and when I run debug I see that I’m authenticated when I get there. The problem is when, in the first WS, I request a new set of credentials to access the SAP WS.
