Error while sending email using ASP.NET 2.0 Beta 2 (Visual Studio 2005 Beta 2)

While trying to send email using
<code>

SmtpClient obj_SmtpClient = new SmtpClient();

obj_SmtpClient.Host = this.GetSmtpHost;

obj_SmtpClient.Send(s_from, s_recipients, s_subject, s_body);
</code>

I get the error message:
Failure sending mail. Unable to connect to the remote server
An established connection was aborted by the software in your host machine
at System.Net.Sockets.Socket.DoConnect(EndPoint endPointSnapshot, SocketAddress socketAddress)
at System.Net.Sockets.Socket.InternalConnect(EndPoint remoteEP)
at System.Net.ServicePoint.ConnectSocketInternal(Boolean connectFailure, Socket s4, Socket s6, Socket& socket, IPAddress& address, ConnectSocketState state, IAsyncResult asyncResult, Int32 timeout, Exception& exception) System

SMTP is installed on my Windows XP Sp2 laptop.

Any suggestions as to how to fix this problem, gratefully accepted.

The SMTP server is a Microsoft Exchange Server that is part of the same domain as myself. I was logged on to the domain while running the email code.

There is an excellant article on ORCS web by BradKingley (http://www.orcsweb.com/articles/sending_smtp_authenticated_email.aspx) on sending authenticated email using username/password, however what I need is how to authenticate in a purely Microsoft environment.

Visual Studio 2005 Beta 2 was released on 4/17/2005.  Here's some important information for users to get started with: If you installed any version of Whidbey Beta 1 products, you must uninstall all Whidbey Beta 1 products before installing Beta 2.  The following links provide details and additional information about uninstalling: http://lab.msdn.microsoft.com/vs2005/uninstall/http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/archive/2005/04/19/409555.aspxhttp://blogs.msdn.com/hgao/archive/2005/04/15/408769.aspxhttp://blogs.msdn.com/hgao/archive/2005/04/15/408768.aspx You ...

where to get dnn 2.0.2 (not 2.0.1 beta 2)
where can i get the new version? on dotnetnuke.com there is only version "dotnetnuke 2.0.1 (beta 2)" for download. but the protal is running on 2.0.2 ... other question: 2.0.1 b2 is running on access and (other ver.) on mssql. the access-powerde version ist mutch slower; not only a bit; it's nearly not pos. the work with it. why? 1) 2.0.2 is not yet available for download. As soon as it is, you will see it on the download page at DotNetNuke. 2) The MS Access version was created to prove the validity of the DataProvider model. Jet SQL is very limited compared to T-SQL and...

.NET Framework 2.0 bugs using beta 2 and having sqlexpress 2005 CTP installed
Hi, I am having a problem using dotnetnuke with .NET 2.0 Framework installed.  Skins dont apply right, only the default one works.  If you try applying a veritical admin skin the admin link gives a "error on page" and does nothing.  Also,  I tried using the FAQ module and you you cant switch between normal text and rich text...it resorts back to rich text, and you cannot type in the "answer" description section.  I have had another install .net 2.0 and he experiences the same problem.  The discussion module has the same issue, when you try to type in the descrip...

.NET 2.0 Data Connection (.NET 2.0 Beta Data Provider)
I have installed the .NET 2.0 Beta Data Provider, in the server explorer in Visual Studio 2005 I have tried to connect to this provider but I can not see it in the list. Is there something else you need to do to see this other than what is in the instructions or is this not supported yet? Hi Dean, I assume you mean ASE ADO.NET 2.0 Beta. I'm attaching the html readme for this product that you should have from downloading it. Are you talking about using Server Explorer to see the Provider? This functionality isn't working yet and should be available on GA or shortly ...

web.config problems when upgrading from .NET 2.0 Beta to .NET 2.0 release version
We uninstalled .NET 2.0 Beta and replaced it with .NET 2.0 release version.  And it messed everything up.  All applications now give weird errors indicating the lack of web.config files, despite the fact that they already have web.config files in place.  For example, the following error occurs even though the web.config file has <customErrors="Off">: Runtime Error Description: An application error occurred on the server. The current custom error settings for this application prevent the details of the application error from being viewed remotely (for securit...

.NET v1.1 SP1 and .NET 2.0 beta 2
Hi all I want to install VWD and .NET 2.0 beta 2 on the same machine that I am using Delphi.NET and .NET v1.1 SP1. I am considering jumping from Delphi to C# and this is an ideal way to do it. I do however have too many web applications on the v1.1 framework that are published on servers that do not support 2.0 as yet. Can these 2 versions of the framework co-exist so I can carry on in Delphi with existing sites but start new ones in VWD? I did take the chance on one of my machines and both VWD and Delphi seem to compile their respective web apps okay. I have not tested deplo...

deployment using Visual Studio .NET 2005 Beta 2
Hi everybody,Does anyone out there know if deployment of a webpage to a remote server is possible using Visual Studio .NET 2005 Beta 2 ?The configuration manager does not even have Release as a selection, just Debug.  Publish always fails, and copying the web folder to the server causes an error message when trying to access the page from the browser.  I suspect that this new Beta 2 version of VS is just incapable of deploying web pages.  Am I wrong?  Is there something I'm missing? I'm using VS .NET 2005 because of its web tree view control, but I'm considering reve...

If so, where can I view a list of known bugs an...

Can .NET framework Beta 2 communicate with SQL 2005 Standard Beta 2?
I upgraded my project from beta 1 to beta 2 and now it has trouble talking to my SQL 2005 Standard Beta 2 (not the Express April CTP).  Did MSFT modified Beta 2 so communicating with SQL 2005 Standard Beta 2 is not possible anymore? Please advice, Jason More specifically, the error is: A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the login process. (provider: TCP Provider, error: 0 - An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.) I don't know this for sure, but I think I've seen the same problem.  If you ...
