Hello Jeyaseelan,

 Thanks for the information .

Iam not talking about cyrstal reports username and password. I have already set that in webconfig.

 What i want is when a registered user logsinto my application and when he/she visits/access any reports, I wanted to display the name of the registered user in Crystal Reports.

 Thanks and Regards

Ohh...nicklibee now i understand.

You have a table for all users, get all the records from there and fill into dataset and bind into CR.

Or if you want to display the logged in username list then you should add a column in your table, if the user is loging in then this time you can add some data to that column this way you can find the logged in user.

If this is not your answer then feel free to ask me.

Binding records into CR from DS is very simple just ref this :

 protected void GenerateReport()

                             SqlConnection sqlConn = new SqlConnection("Server=localhost;uid=sa;password=;initial

                             SqlCommand comd;

                             comd = new SqlCommand();

                             comd.Connection = sqlConn;

                             comd.CommandType = CommandType.StoredProcedure;

                             comd.CommandText = "up_GetAllCustomer";

                             SqlDataAdapter sqlAdapter = new SqlDataAdapter();

                             sqlAdapter.SelectCommand = comd;

                             Dataset1 ds = new Dataset1();

                             sqlAdapter.Fill(ds, "Customers");

                             oRpt.SetDataSource (ds);

                             CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = oRpt;

  Hi, not sure that this is best way, but that how I made it before. You need to add table to dataSet, which you are binding to report, for example table name "User". Create 1 columns "userName" in this table and add one record with your logged in user to it before you will call report.SetDataSource (ds). And inside Crytall Report layout create label with binding to this User table, to userName column.

Are there other reporting tools other than reporting services and crystal reports
Has anyone had any experience with any reporting tools other than Reporting services and Crystal reports? If so, is there one that you would strongly recommend? Or, are these two the top choice on the market for report generation from .NET? I have heard some moaning and groaning about reporting services. Specifically in regards to the amount of time needed to design a report. Crystal reports seems kind of difficult to me, as I don't have any training with it. Basically I am looking for a reporting tool that is easy to use, and can be used from .NET....

Reporting (Crystal Reports vs. Custom .NET)
Ok, so I have to confess, I have never tried Crystal Reports. I just recently started working for a marketing company now and reporting is VERY important to them.  I am currently migrating a lot of the applications they use from VB5 and VB6 to web based .NET 3.5 apps.   The whole company is running off ACCESS databases if you can believe that.  They sometimes have up to a few hundred agents taking sales on incoming calls and chat sessions and they are all getting streamed to FLAT file records (completely un-normalized database).  I am in the process of developing a c...
