System.IO file not found

Using Vista, 64 bit, VS 2008.  Had some 32 bit DLLs that I needed to use in web service.  To get around the 64 bit vs 32 bit conflict for these DLLs, I set "Enable 32 Bit Applicatins" to true for the application pool.  I published the application and then run the application from localhost.  The 64 vs 32 bit conflicts were resolved.

However, a new problem now popped up.  I get the following error:

System.IO.FileNotFoundException: The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E)

I am not using System.IO in the web service.  Any ideas of what is happening?  Thanks.....

It seems that CLR cannot load 32 bit assembly on 64 bit system.

After we configure IIS to run 32 bit applications, IIS stores 32 bit DLLs in the %windir%\syswow64\inetsrv directory. You can try to put these dlls in that directory.

For more information, see Running 32-bit Applications on 64-bit Windows(

I look forward to receiving your test results.

Can we deploy aspx files and individual codebehind files in the server without deploying the solution in .net 1.1?
Actually, as far as my knowledge, in .net 1.1 we just bulid the solution and deploy the aspx pages and the dll. Is it possible that we can deploy the codebehind and aspx pages instead of dll? Currently, i have deployed some aspx and codebehind vb files in the server, the pages are using some dlls which are to be put in GAC. But, the pages are working fine with the dlls in the bin folder but not removing from bin. That means it is unable to take the dll from GAC. Can any one help in this issue? Thanks , SonaliThanks,Sonali yes, In .net 1.1 also individual aspx pages work taking codebeh...

Could you let me know whether I have to incorporate setting in new web.config (this new web.config file was generated automatically due to migration) into old *.config file?FYI: Old *.config file contains all application level settings required. I create the file like this System.IO.File.Create("pallingtest1.txt") but how do I tell it where to save the file?
can anyone help? Why don't you specify the fully qualified path where you want to write the file rather than try and figure out where its going to write it? Jeev~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~If you get the answer to your question, please mark it as the answer.  From the MSDN docs: <i>The path parameter is permitted to specify relative or absolute path information. Relative path information is interpreted as relative to the current working directory. To obtain the current working directory, see GetCurrentDirectory.</i>

WDP for VS2008 still doesn't allow web.config file section replacement of 'System.Net'
There were a series of posts on various blogs about the VS 2005 version of the WDP not allowing replacement of the 'System.Net' section. This was a rather significant oversight, in my opinion, as the three parts of web.config you would most likely want to replace would be appSettings for site specific attributes, connectionStrings for the proper database configuration, and System.Net to set up site-generated email. That being said, there was talk in the forums about fixing for the next release. Indeed, in the release notes for WDP for 2008 there was mention of fixes for config file u...

[PATCH lib/Net/, MANIFEST, t/lib/Mock/, lib/Net/Config.t] Add Tests for Net::Config
Here's a test suite for Net::Config. In the process of writing this, I've fixed an apparent bug that prevented single values from becoming array references when necessary. I think it's right, but perhaps Graham should weigh in on this. In the process, with some advice from perl-qa, I've added a mock object so the test could control the output of Socket::inet_ntoa() and Socket::inet_aton(). t/lib/Mock/ seemed like as good a place as any. I'm happy to rework this patch if it personally offends anyone whose opinion matters. :) -- c --- lib/Net/ S...
When using the File object how do you now whether the path you are putting, is the path of a file on the server or the path of a file on the client machine. I want to transfer a file from the client machine to the server, does anyone know if the File object is suited for this? I guess the real question there is where did you get the path from. If the path came from the Posted File - then it is most likely the file path / name from the client not and is not valid for saving on the server What do you mean when you say where the path came from, what if i hard code a file path to be ...

I have to copy the file with System.IO.File.Copy. But I get the error (only on server) "file c:/test.txt (client) not fount". I think it is searched on the servers C:/. I thought I could solve that with a stream. But how to create a file (or a fileinfo - to get all proberties of the file before creating) from stream.   Thank you all! You will not be able to use File.Copy, since the file does not exist on the web...
