Same app in two application directories - works in one, doesn't work in t'other

Hi All,

I'm developing an ASP.net app on my local machine.  I have had Visual Studio create an application directory under "Default Web Site", and I have also created an application directory myself via inetmgr (IIS7 on Vista).  The directory created by VS works perfectly, but the directory which I created manually doesn't - every page I load returns a "could not load type" error.  The exact same files exist in both directories (I literally copied them from my dev directory to the one I created), so I know it's not the source files themselves.  I suspect that IIS settings are coming into play, however I'm not sufficiently IIS savvy to be able to sort it out.

Any ideas on how I can resolve this issue?

TIA.

Hello,

Check in IIS console the Website (Properties) ASP.NET Version, it should be 2.0.

You could also check in http://forums.iis.net - the same login as here.

WDP for VS2008 still doesn't allow web.config file section replacement of 'System.Net'
There were a series of posts on various blogs about the VS 2005 version of the WDP not allowing replacement of the 'System.Net' section. This was a rather significant oversight, in my opinion, as the three parts of web.config you would most likely want to replace would be appSettings for site specific attributes, connectionStrings for the proper database configuration, and System.Net to set up site-generated email. That being said, there was talk in the forums about fixing for the next release. Indeed, in the release notes for WDP for 2008 there was mention of fixes for config file u...

'do' won't 'do' if '/'
Greetings to All from Au, Have a NetWare Perl 5.8.4 and wanted to tweak File\Spec\NW.pm to try and standardise on '/' separators. If I run a test script (t/uni/lower.t) with an unmodified NW.pm, it calls t/uni/case.pl, that, in case.pl, (when the path separators are '\'), the $file is '..\lib\unicore\To\Lower.pl' and the following code portion works, with $simple getting a returned table: sub casetest { my ($base, $spec, $func) = @_; my $file = File::Spec->catfile(File::Spec->catdir(File::Spec->updir, "lib", &qu...

Can't figure out why one form causes validation on other controls and the other doesn't
I have two diffferent ASPX pages.  Both have the same regularexpressionevaluator with the same validation expression.  I have all of the controls on both pages set with causesvalidation = true.  On one page, when I am leaving a particular control, it validates all of the other controls.  On the other page, it only validates it's own control upon leaving it, and ignores the others.  I want it to ignore the others since I display the currency symbol, etc in textboxes. Any ideas of why one page is validating all controls, and the other is only validation its own co...

MakeMaker and TESTS => 't/*.t t/*/*.t'
I'm maintaining a module (Regexp::Common) which has a large set of tests. Therefore I decided to not put all the test scripts in t/, but to make subdirectories in t/. I added "test => {TESTS => 't/*.t t/*/*.t'}" to the call to WriteMakefile in Makefile.PL, and all worked well. At least, so I thought. It works fine on Unix, but it seems to fail under Windows. I got the following report: Installing perl extension Writing Makefile for Regexp::Common Microsoft (R) Program Maintenance Utility Version 7.00.9466 Copyright (C) Microsoft Cor...
