I don't want .xml files served

Hello,

I have a website with about 10,000 xml files in about 100 folders that I don't want served.

The markup below is in my web.config file, everything works good on my local computer but not on my remote server the xml extensions are getting served.

I think ISS is servering the .xml files and not asp.net???????????

Thanks!

Steve

If your remote server is not under your control (ie. a hosting company) there is a good chance that they don't allow this kind of overriding the web.config like this.  You probably should ask them by opening up a support ticket.

By default, XML file is not handled by ASP.NET.

You (or your hoster) can easily configured ASP.NET to handle XML by adding a script map for .xml to point to asp.net ISAPI.  Your hoster should know how to do that.  If not, post back and i will post detail instruction.

Don't have PK in Consolidated ---and don't want one
I am trying to sync a handful of SQL Server config tables to SQL Anywhere but our SQL Server tables do not have primary keys and we don't want them. Mobilink seems to require PKs. WDP for VS2008 still doesn't allow web.config file section replacement of 'System.Net'
There were a series of posts on various blogs about the VS 2005 version of the WDP not allowing replacement of the 'System.Net' section. This was a rather significant oversight, in my opinion, as the three parts of web.config you would most likely want to replace would be appSettings for site specific attributes, connectionStrings for the proper database configuration, and System.Net to set up site-generated email. That being said, there was talk in the forums about fixing for the next release. Indeed, in the release notes for WDP for 2008 there was mention of fixes for config file u...

cpan>install NET::SSH ----> Can't install NET::SSH don't know what it is?
Good day! This is the first time I'll be using the cpan to install modules. I run: perl -MCPAN -e shell and answer the questions one by one. When its done, I issued install NET::SSH at the cpan> prompt and I got the message: Can't install NET::SSH Don't know what it is. Question: How will I make cpan> know what NET::SSH is? Is there something I have to update first? How can I search for some useful modules using cpan> rather than using cpan search in www.cpan.org? What is auto bundle? And what does 'cpan -a' does?
