Develop in .NET 3.5...Deploy on .NET 3.0...Assembly strong name issue in web.config
Hi. I develop locally using web developer express 2008. I have .NET 3.5 installed on the development machine.I am trying to deploy to a Windows Server 2003 machine running.NET 3.0.Not surprisingly, I get an error about the strong assembly names referenced all over my web.config when I try to access the site on the production server.I don't think any of my code truly relies on .NET 3.5--it should all be compatible with the 3.0 framework.Here's my error message:Parser Error Message: Could not load file or assembly 'System.Core, Version=3.5.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77...

Deploying .Net application with datawindow .Net objects
Hi I=92ve been testing datawindow .net for our company by building a small working application using the Datawindow .Net tutorial. It works great (both from the VS interface and the compiled solution .exe) and was easy to create. My next test is to try and deploy this application to another machine, which has the .Net (1.1) environment but no Powerbuilder or Visual Studio. I built my solution and placed these files, all in one folder, on this other machine: datawindow.dll datawindow.xml DataWindowInterop.dll MSVCP71.DLL MSVCR71.DLL PBDATA100.dll PBDWN100.DLL PBO10100.D...

[PATCH lib/Net/Config.pm, MANIFEST, t/lib/Mock/Socket.pm, lib/Net/Config.t] Add Tests for Net::Config
Here's a test suite for Net::Config. In the process of writing this, I've fixed an apparent bug that prevented single values from becoming array references when necessary. I think it's right, but perhaps Graham should weigh in on this. In the process, with some advice from perl-qa, I've added a mock object so the test could control the output of Socket::inet_ntoa() and Socket::inet_aton(). t/lib/Mock/ seemed like as good a place as any. I'm happy to rework this patch if it personally offends anyone whose opinion matters. :) -- c --- lib/Net/~Config.pm S...

.net deployment
good day,    How will I deploy asp.net application. I already copy and paste my file on the server but it is still not working. I am NOT using asp.net 2.0. I am using the older version. Any tutorial or links will be of great help. thank you You should just be able to copy the ASPX files and any files in the /BIN directory to the server. Make sure the right version of .NET is installed and that your directory is set up as a virtual directory and that ASP.NET is enabled on that directory (or the Web server in general). You can use the IIS Service manager to create the virtu...

How to deploy a VS.VB net project to websever withour VS.net
The VB app is developed on VS.net professional. I plan to deploy it on a web server that doesn't have VS.net. Would the code behind files cause problems? Should I compile the app and deploy the assembly only? I'd appreciate some quickstart tips on how to deploy a VS.net VB project to websever withour VS.net. Thanks. Please mark the post(s) that have helped you as "Answer" The only thing you would need to do is compile the project and push the .aspx files and the bin folder to the server, and of course any other sub-folders that are used in your app like images. WebSite (.NET 1.1) Deployment Tools
Hello,I would like to get some recommendations from everybody about a deployment tool for ASP.NET 1.1 Web Sites.The main idea here is that the users should be able to install the on their PC using simple installation.Something like clicking  Next all the time  .I know, you can say - use .NET 2/3 etc. But due to occasions I cannot control I have to use .NET 1.1.So the basic requirements for such deployment tool would be:Not expensive or free.Register WebSite(s) in IIS.Add assemblies to GAC.Create Database.Restore Database from backup.Execute SQL scripts against Database.Modify web.c...

Clickonce deployment anyone (DW.NET 2.0 and .NET 2.0)?
I saw someone had posted a question about this already, and there were no responses. So I am hoping that this will get some. We had problems with the previous version of DW.NET 1.5 + VS2003 when attempting to deploy applications via a web server. So many problems that we eventually decided to run off a network drive (which is OK if your user base doesn't roam around the country). Anyway, we gave up on DW.NET, and started to use the datagrid control. Since then, much has changed. Our development team now has VS2005 professional and may start using DW.NET 2.0 (pending my inv...

Can we deploy a .net 1.1 app to a .net 2.0 server?
Hi, We have been hosting an app on a server that has ASP and ASP.net 1.1 support.  We are now moving to an ISP that has ASP, ASP.net 1.1 and ASP.Net 2.0 plans.  We will soon migrate the development environment to VS 2005.  However, today we use VS 2003.  My question is can we initially deply to a server that has .net 2.0 support?  Are the 2.0 libs fully backward compatible? jerry    You can deploy a 1.1 app to a server runnuing both 1.1 and 2.0 by setting the framework version for the application on the server.  You can deploy many (bu...

Deploy a .net website w/o source files?
I've built a web application on my local machine using VS.net. I want to copy it over to a hosted server account so other people can see it. Question: which files (.aspx, .ascx, .vb, other?) need to exist on the server in order for my application to work? I'd rather not copy all the source code over if I can help it. Thanks! You'll need all aspx, ascx, global.asax, web.config, images, the dll, etc. You can safely leave your source code out. BTW, VS.NET has a "copy project" option that includes "copy only the files needed to run the project" that will do this fo...

Deploy SSRS2005/WinForm .NET 2 on the same box where SSRS2003/WinForm .NET 1.x run
On a box currently is running SSRS2003/WinForm .NET 1.x which is an email/fax app I inherited from an ex coworker. Now what I need to do is modify that app's SSRS with a new requirement of detail data expansion. Since I am using VS2005 and don't have VS2003, can I keep the old winform .NET 1.x but replace the SSRS2003 with a new SSRS2005 only? Or do I need to create a new copy of the whole app using .NET 2.0, rename it  and do my new development on it, and redeploy it on the same box? Can SSRS 2005 and WinForm .NET 2.0 be installed and run side by side with the old SSRS2003...
