Books on Client Side Programming?
Does anyone know of a good book that leads a programmer in ASP.NET Client-side programming? I have no problems writing server-side code, but there are times when I feel that client-side programming will help, especially when it comes to relieving stress off of a server.
I'm looking at a book that starts from the basics of possibly client-side validation to more advanced topics, such as when to do things on the client-side as well as how to pass values back and forth between the client-side code and the server-side code (if that's even possible).
So far, I cannot find any books that foc...

good book for client side scripting in .net?
Anyone come across a good book that concentrates on client side scripting./javascript for asp.net? Or at least a book that has devoted a fair bit of it's pages to this topic?
I have the MSPress book, Developing Microsoft® ASP.NET Server Controls and Components.
While there are quite a few references to client-side functionality, there is only one dedicated chapter. And that chapter is a mere 20 pages.
Bearing in mind that ASP.NET is a server-side technology, I doubt you will find a book that concentrates on its client-side scripting aspect. After all, there's only a few ways...
.NET 1.0 books and .NET 1.1 books. Does it matter ??
Hello, I want to buy a book that is good to learn asp.net. I have seen some good books on ASP.NET in the book store, but some of them are for .NET 1.0 and not the current 1.1.
Does it make that big of a difference if the asp.net book is 1.0 and not 1.1 ????
Someone please help me as I have to do quite a bit of driving to go review and purchase a book. I need to leave in about an hour so if someone know the answer, please respond, asap.
Sincerely, Amy Daynou

Good WSS Book
I need to install Windows Sharepoint Services (not the Portal Server) onto our current testing web server that currently has Windows Server 2003. We also have a stand-alone SQL Server 2000 on a different box that has Windows Server 2003, thus won't be using the defaulted MSDE installation, but a remote installation.I have browsed for books on the aforementioend technology but most books reference Windows Sharepoint Portal Server, and not just WSS. Has anyone purchased any WSS-only references? If so, which are they? Are they any good?

Got to http://ajax.asp.net/downloads/default.aspx?tabid=47 and download the Asp.Net2.0 AJAX Extensions 1.0, if you haven't already.
Download the Documentation site, and follow the ReadMe for installation details.

client side book recommendations
Hello. I was wondering if someone has a book they recommend that specifically talks about ASP.NET client side programming? My asp.net books doesn't cover those topics. Thank you so much.
I typically use the web as a resource when I am looking for client side script. I think its safe to say that most people use javascript. If you really want a book, I have people that swear by the Javascrip the definitive guide (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1565922344/qid=1119554671/sr=8-1/ref=pd_csp_1/103-5203215-6051812?v=glance&s=books&n=5...

I got a nice chance to review a recently released .NET Security book and I thoroughly enjoyed the Job. At the outset, I found that this book is basically intended for Intermediate-Advanced developers who have a good working knowledge of .NET and ASP.NET. The authors have made a great effort to present the complicated material in a very lucid manner. This book is divided into ten chapters and 5 appendixes.

Hello everyone,
I have been taught java and OO programming in an MSc.
I have also followed the tutorials/help topics of the Visual Developer and have a grasp of PHP.
I am looking for a book for intermediate to advanced c# web development. Ideally this book should contain examples of shopping carts/CMS/etc.
